Kids’ HOPE Center
Our newest service project is the Kids’ HOPE Center, which provides investigative, medical, and counseling services to abused children throughout Coos County. They helped 412 kids in 2018, as well as providing emergency support for local families.
Most of their clients are under the age of 12. Most are between the ages of 5 and 12, but they also have a need for quilts sized for infants and toddlers.
April is a big fundraising month for the Kids’ HOPE Project, and they hold a benefit auction. They welcome donations of items for auction, including household and decorative items like table runners, throw pillows, etc.
Quilts for Giving
The guild donates quilts to South Coast Hospice. These quilts mean the world to patients in hospice care, and often become treasured family items after the patient passes.
Some of our members meet to sew Quilts for Giving every week at Joan Glasgow’s house, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10AM to 2PM.
